Recently, Andi Sumangerukka, Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Province in Indonesia, along with Deputy Governor Ir. Hugua, led a government delegation including Amri, the Head of Kolaka Regency, senior military and police officials, among other key figures, to inspect the IPIP Industrial Park. They focused on examining the progress of park construction, industrial collaboration, and its strategic value to the local economy. The inspection was accompanied by Shao Weisheng, CEO of the IPIP park, and Ning Jiancheng, Deputy General Manager, who reported on the project’s progress.

During the symposium, representatives from the park highlighted the construction progress of ongoing projects and public auxiliary facilities within the park. Governor Andi Sumangerukka noted that the rapid advancement of IPIP has injected new momentum into the industrial upgrade of Southeast Sulawesi Province. The provincial government will fully support the application process for Economic Special Zone (KEK) status, optimize the investment environment, and attract global capital and technology to settle in the region. He also expressed on behalf of the provincial government the expectation for the project to start full operation as soon as possible, creating high-quality job opportunities, increasing tax revenues, and achieving dual benefits in economic growth and environmental protection.
Addressing the needs proposed by the park for its development, the governor stated that the provincial government would provide systematic policy support to overcome obstacles hindering the park’s development, prioritizing coordination of critical resources such as land and energy to ensure efficient project progression. He highly recognized the establishment of a "National Key Project Coordination Leadership Group" by the local government, describing it as an initiative that systematically addresses core issues like land ownership confirmation and infrastructure provision, providing solid support for the construction of the park.
Following the meeting, the governor and his delegation visited the construction site of the KNI project to conduct on-site inspections of the technical principles and environmental benefits of the processes involved. The governor praised the KNI project’s advanced technology for converting low-grade slag into high-value-added products, stating that this technological breakthrough not only resolves bottlenecks in resource utilization but also reduces environmental burdens through green processes, setting a benchmark for sustainable mining development in Indonesia.

Deputy Governor Ir. Hugua remarked during the inspection that KNI’s advanced technology truly realizes turning “waste soil into gold and silver mountains” — transforming previously unusable slag into high-value-added products while reducing ecological impact through clean production processes. This innovative model serves as a paradigm for the transformation and upgrading of the mining industry in Indonesia.

The IPIP leadership team indicated that the park will accelerate the transfer of technologies and the cultivation of local talent, investing resources in supporting community healthcare, education, and other public welfare projects, promoting coordinated development between industry and people's livelihood, and effectively fulfilling corporate social responsibilities.
As Huayou’s first integrated, large-scale, and high-level industrial park overseas, under the continuous attention of the central and local governments of Indonesia, IPIP, leveraging its advantages in full industry chain integration and green technology leadership, is rapidly becoming a core hub for nickel resource development in Southeast Asia. In the future, the park will continue to focus on efficient resource utilization and eco-friendly development, injecting strong economic power into Southeast Sulawesi Province, and setting a dual benchmark for “resource appreciation” and “green development” in Indonesia’s industrialization process.
